Phoenix Four in tax dispute
The former MG Rover directors, the so-called Phoenix Four, are at loggerheads with their auditors after rejecting demands to set aside extra cash for disputed tax liabilities.
According to the Financial Times, the £2.7m dispute represents a significant amount of the funds the directors had pledged to give to former Rover workers. An inquiry by Revenues and Customs is now likely.
