D-day for Aston Martin bidders
Today (30 January) is the deadline for final bids on luxury car brand Aston Martin.
The UK marque is being sold by Ford in an auction process managed by investment bank UBS. Reports indicate that Australian businessman James Packer, son of media mogul Kerry Packer, is heading a powerful consortium of bidders.
He faces competition from the likes of Permira and Alchemy Partners with a sale price of around £500m being mooted.
