OFT orders Reg Vardy to change credit adverts

Reg Vardy has been ordered to change its consumer credit advertising by the Office of Fair Trading after its campaign was found to breach regulations.

Credit adverts appearing in newspapers in Scotland, the north of England and on Reg Vardy forecourts, were considered by the OFT to be in breach of the Consumer Credit Advertisements Regulations.

Some adverts were also found to be misleading. The dealer group has now given the OFT a written assurance that its advertising will be compliant in future.
