Toyota Sales Soar

Toyota has reported a 7.3 per cent rise in profits for the third quarter ended 31 December. The world’s second-largest car maker saw group net profit rise to 426.8bn Yen (£1.83bn). Quarterly sales rose 15.2 per cent to 6.15tr Yen, leaving the Japanese company well placed to overtake General Motors and become the largest car company in the world. Toyota said profit and sales had reached an all time quarterly record.
