IAN FORSTER Specialist Cars at Newcastle Road, West Boldon, Tyne & Wear, has closed.
A spokesman told AutoWired that Mr Forster (43) is retiring and new tenants for the showroom are expected to move-in shortly.
"We are now clearing the site," said the spokesman, who confirmed that the showroom was not open for business.
The Financial Services Authority cancelled the firm's licence to sell insurance in January 'because it had failed to conduct business in compliance with proper standards'.
Three-years ago, when the retailer moved to its new site, it was reported to have sold £4m-worth of cars inside the first 3-months.
