Proceeds of car trader's crimes seized

THE VICTIMS of rogue car trader, Elite Fleet in Brownhill, are set to get some of their money back.
Michael Scragg (47) who ran the company was jailed for five and a half years in January last year. He had been buying high-performance cars with thousands of pounds of outstanding finance on them, and then selling them on to unsuspecting customers.
West Midlands Police have successfully seized Scragg's assets under the Proceeds of Crime Act and he has been ordered to pay back more than £500,000.
