Bentley shows £57m first-half operating profit

VOLKSWAGEN GROUP has for the first time revealed financial figures for its British luxury brand, Bentley.
Figures show that the Crewe, Cheshire company, has recorded increased global sales for the fourth year running.
The first half of 2007 saw an increase in sales of 18.8% over the same period in 2006, with over 5600 customers taking delivery of a car.
Turnover, at £497.9m (euro 739m), was 24% higher than the first half of 2006.
