Vauxhall shelves green car plans
Vauxhall will not be launching an ethanol-powered version of its Vectra replacement next year due to the lack of a coherent plan on alternative fuels from the government.
Although the technology is available company officials will wait for moves from Whitehall that make the petrol alternative more attractive to consumers, claimed GM Europe sales and marketing vice-president and Vauxhall chairman Jonathan Browning.
“Government strategy is woefully lacking in a long-term vision and a coherent plan – it is something the UK needs to step up to in the near future.
