Dodge steps up European push

The European arrival of Dodge gathers pace with the Frankfurt debut of the big Dodge Journey people carrier.
The front drive, seven seater is based on stretched Dodge Avenger underpinnings and powered by 2.0 litre diesel and 2.4 litre petrol engines. It replaces the short wheelbase Chrysler Voyager, arrives in Britain next year, and will be the brand’s most mainstream offering to date.
The Voyager name won’t disappear, as Chrysler is moving the Grand Voyager up market, with a new version also launched at Frankfurt. The Journey will join the Caliber, Nitro and Avenger in the Dodge line-up as well as the niche market SR-10 Viper sports car.
