Car industry welcomes training changes


The automotive industry has welcomed government plans to overhaul the UK’s student qualifications structure to place more weight on vocational based learning.
While the introduction of diplomas - that could replace A levels - is not scheduled until 2013 at the earliest, diplomas in vocational subjects will be made available at 900 schools and colleges next year.
