Hybrid car sales soar in UK
The UK is now one of the top five markets for hybrid car sales in the world and demand is growing dramatically, according to a new study.
In 2006 sales of hybrid vehicles, such as the Toyota Prius, grew by approximately 23 per cent in the UK and by a similar margin in other developed markets such as Japan and the US.
The study, carried out by consultants Frost & Sullivan, found that growth in the petrol/electric market had “significantly exceeded” sales forecasts.
