AUTOMOTIVE engineering specialists MIRA have launched a new initiative to provide expert training to professional drivers of modern and often powerful cars. The proliferation of the latest electronic driver aids has left a growing number of drivers unfamiliar with their car’s dynamic characteristics when taken to the limit, says the organisation.As a result, tell tale signs of a vehicle transitioning to ‘limit handling’ can be missed by drivers. Once the electronic control systems cut in and act to restore directional control, vehicles can also exhibit behaviour that is uncharacteristic to untrained drivers.
