UK roads the worst in Europe
THE government must plough money into improving the road network rather than investing in public transport and congestion charge schemes to ease the gridlock on the UK’s roads.
The UK motorway network was branded the worst in Europe last week.
Road File 2007/08, published by the Road Users’ Alliance, revealed that Britain has more cars per motorway mile than any other in the 25-strong European Union.
Britain’s roads are listed in the report as being on par with those in Lithuania, Slovakia and Hungary.
