Honda’s flagship dealership snapped up by Marubeni

Japanese investor adds Norton Way site to its portfolio
Marubeni Auto Investment has acquired Norton Way Motors – its third major dealer group acquisition in the UK.
Norton Way Motors consists of two Honda centres and Peugeot and Mazda sites in the south east.
Marubeni bought the Radcliffe Road Garage Group, ranked 29 in the Motor Trader Top 200, in 2000 and the Japanese franchises of the Smith Knight Fay Group in 2006.

When the Japanese group acquired the RRG Group, Akira Tanaka, then chairman, told Motor Trader: “The exciting new partnership will ensure continued growth for the RRG Group and will provide Marubeni with a strong bridge-head in the UK motor retail market.”
Marubeni acquired Smith Knight Fay from European Motor Holdings, which had purchased the group in 2005.
