The Peter Vardy retail chain has given £18,000 towards feeding the needy in Scotland. The Peter Vardy Foundation, which co-ordinates the company’s charitable activities, allocated £1500 to each of the firm’s 12 retail outlets, allowing them to choose where locally the money should go.
Peter Vardy Vauxhall in Motherwell, for example, gave its cash to a food bank run by the Salvation Army in the town. The company gives 10% of profits to local community enterprises.
